Statement of intent
As a specialist in construction health and safety, GHA Construction Services holds itself to the same standard we help our clients achieve. We are committed to providing a safe working environment for ourselves, our associates, and anyone affected by our work, in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).
Organisation and responsibilities
Glen Hull, as sole trader and principal of GHA Construction Services, holds overall and final responsibility for health and safety within the business, including:
Ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation
Carrying out and maintaining suitable risk assessments for all work activities
Ensuring any subcontracted or associate personnel are competent and appropriately briefed on site-specific risks
Reporting and investigating any accidents, incidents, or near-misses
Reviewing and updating this policy at least annually or following any significant change in working practices
Arrangements
Risk assessment: A suitable and sufficient risk assessment is carried out before undertaking any site visit or consultancy activity involving physical site attendance.
Training and competence: Relevant CPD, qualifications, and professional memberships are maintained and kept up to date.
Site work: When attending client sites, GHA Construction Services complies with the site-specific rules, PPE requirements, and induction procedures of the principal contractor or client.
Incident reporting: Any incident, accident, or near-miss occurring during the course of GHA Construction Services' work will be recorded and, where required, reported in line with RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013).
Working alone: Where work is carried out alone (e.g. office-based document review), appropriate check-in arrangements are followed.
Review
This policy is reviewed annually, or sooner if legislation, working practices, or business circumstances change significantly.
